Alan Keck hires November Inc. to manage his gubernatorial campaign

Native Kentuckian Jeremy Hughes will serve as general consultant and media strategist

SOMERSET, KENTUCKY (January 16, 2023) — Somerset Mayor and Republican candidate for Kentucky governor Alan Keck has selected political strategy group November Inc. to manage his gubernatorial campaign.

Native Kentuckian Jeremy Hughes, a battle-tested veteran of statewide campaigns, will serve as Keck’s general consultant and media strategist. Hughes, from Fleming County, recently oversaw paid media for an eight-figure super PAC supporting Republican Joe Lombardo for Nevada governor, the only statewide challenger for either party to beat an incumbent in 2022.

Hughes has served as a regional political director for the Republican National Committee, campaign manager for former Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval, and began his career with former Kentucky 4th District Congressman Geoff Davis.

“Alan is a genuine, authentic candidate who has led from the start as mayor in so many issues that are important to Kentuckians,” Hughes said. “I am excited to lead the only campaign in this primary with a platform and the only candidate in the field to have the public- and private-sector experience needed to lead this state. Kentucky is my home and I share Alan’s passion for making the Commonwealth win again.”

November Inc.’s Mike Slanker will serve as the campaign’s lead media strategist. Slanker served in this role for Lombardo’s successful gubernatorial campaign and has been the lead strategist for numerous statewide campaigns across the country. In 2012, he led the only successful Republican U.S. Senate race in a state that presidential candidate Mitt Romney lost. Slanker has also served as the political director for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Keck said he is excited about the breadth of experience November Inc. brings to the campaign and the dedication the team gives to its candidates.

“We have assembled a world-class team,” Keck said. “A team that not only wins tough primaries but a team that knocked off a Democrat incumbent governor in 2022. That’s something no other candidate has done and will be invaluable in carrying us across the finish line in both the primary and the general election. I look forward to working with Jeremy and Mike to share our story and our Game Plan for Kentucky with voters across the Commonwealth.”
